El estudio tiene por objetivo evaluar la relación que existe entre el uso problemático de las redes sociales y el control inhibitorio en 30 estudiantes de Comunicaciones Integradas a Marketing que cursaron la clase de Microeconomía durante el período de mayo de 2026, en Keiser University, Latin American Campus, Managua, mediante un enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental, de corte transversal y de alcance descriptivo-correlacional, aplicando la Escala de Adicción a Redes Sociales de Bergen y el test Stroop (evaluando la interferencia) con el uso de estadística descriptiva e inferencial. Los resultados indican que existe relación negativa estadísticamente significativa de baja magnitud entre el uso problemático de redes sociales y el control
Inhibitorio, es decir, que a mayor uso problemático de redes sociales, menor control inhibitorio.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the relationship between problematic social media use and inhibitory control in 30 Integrated Communication and Marketing students who took a Microeconomics course during May 2026 at Keiser University, Latin American Campus, Managua. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive-correlational approach was used, applying the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale and the Stroop test (to assess interference), with descriptive and inferential statistical analyses. The results indicate a statistically significant, albeit weak, negative relationship between problematic social media use and inhibitory control; that is, greater problematic social media use is associated with lower inhibitory control.
